My names TGA aka - DJ Provoke I've been into jungle / dnb ever since i was 15 and started swaping the tape packs at school back in 1995. Used to have a regular night in nottingham ripping it up every other friday down at fudge bar hammering some dirty jungle before it got closed, ive been producing since i had an amiga and a copy of protracker and cant find anything better to do with my spare time than mess about makin jungle. | Q & A with Provoke Q: Where does your artist name come from? A: Long story , running this small event in a bar in nottingham , girl i was playing along side with ( jen-a-side, look out for her !!!!!!) she came up with it. Q: Tell us more about your musical roots! A: started at school, big dj and mc were inside rinsing jungle in our music room , started swapping tape packs at school and kinda went from there. Q: How did you start producing music? A: with an amiga and a copy of protracker/octamed , it didnt sound great but 8bit is still sick Q: Are you also a DJ? A: yeah , started back in 1998/99 Q: Do you work together with other artists also? E.g. Remixes? A: kinda, im looking to get more into it now Q: Do you have any special musical aims? A: maybe get a few good tunes out, maybe meeting soneone who can remember a tune i made Q: What do you think of the contemporary popular music which is played by normal radio stations? A: pretty dull , it gets u to work at 7am , thats about it. Q: What have you read recently (book, play, film, etc.) that moved or surprised you? A: 300 - 100000 people got owned by 300 Q: What is your all-time favorite track? Why? A: favorite , jees i got to many , at the moment i reckon - Q: What's one thing you're a fan of that people might not expect? A: i got some 80's tunes i like scratching up |
